The University is committed to creating a quality learning environment in an atmosphere that is respectful, safe, and scholarly. This goal is best accomplished by providing University residences that are free from alcohol. Possessing or consuming alcohol is prohibited in University housing, even if the student is 21 years of age or older.

If under the age of 21, the possession or consumption of alcohol is a crime in the State of Vermont. Additionally, selling or furnishing alcohol to a minor is a crime in the State of Vermont. The University will enforce this no-alcohol policy through appropriate disciplinary procedures administered through Residential Life and/or through the Center for Student Ethics and Standards.

All students are responsible for reading and getting familiar with the University of Vermont's Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities
