Spring 2016 Room Selection Process for Returning Students

The spring room selection process is how students already living on campus select their room for the following year. The room you will be able to select depends on whether or not you are required to live on campus next year. If you came to UVM as a first-time, first-year student, you are required to live on campus in a residence hall for your first four semesters. If you are not required to live on campus you can still request housing, but your options have changed during our construction phase while space in the residence halls is limited. If you are not sure of your housing requirement status, please email us at reslife@uvm.edu.

If you ARE required to be on campus:

ResLife will automatically contact you to complete an on-campus housing and meal plan contract, which you must complete by March 14, 2016 in order to participate in room selection. (Even if you do not select a room, your student account will be billed for a double room, an IRA fee, and meal plan.)

Get Started: see related page REQUIRED & ELIGIBLE RETURNERS.

If you ARE NOT required to live on campus:

Returners not required or eligible

Most students not required or eligible to live in the residence halls are students who have either completed their four-semester residency requirement or are older transfer students. Limited housing for these students is available at Quarry Hill Apartments or the Sheraton. Reslife will not automatically contact you about housing for next year; you must request it by submitting a housing request in myResLife.

Read more about Quarry Hill Apartments and the Sheraton.

Get Started: see related page RETURNERS NOT REQUIRED.

Returners not required, but eligible

Some students not required to live on campus are eligible to return to the residence halls on campus. These include younger transfer students, student leaders, and students with ACCESS accommodations. ResLife will automatically contact you to complete an on-campus housing and meal plan contract, which you must complete by March 14, 2016 in order to participate in room selection.
